You can be assured a friendly welcome and a positive attitude on your visits to Redlands Physiotherapy.
What is Physiotherapy? It is literally ‘physical therapy’ – a therapy focused on the physical aspects of life, i.e. movement and function. These basic features of life are often affected by injury, illness or disability, and they don’t have to involve significant trauma to make a big impact on a person’s life.
When you attend treatment at Redlands Physiotherapy you will receive the highest levels of clinical excellence and expertise.
We will identify the root cause of your problem, be that your environment ( like a poor desk posture), your movement( for example tall people having to stoop ) or your function ( is your body and its components working in harmony, or is there a weak link somewhere)
We are specially trained to:
Through comprehensive assessment and individualised treatment, your Physiotherapist will work with you to achieve attainable clinical goals. This involves an integrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology and clinical techniques which may include:
We have been providing Sports Physiotherapy to individuals of all athletic levels within the Redlands for over 20 years. From recreational athletes and weekend warriors, to competitive athletes, dancers and high level runners. Sports Physiotherapy can be thought of as a sub-specialization of traditional orthopaedic Physiotherapy one that focuses on the unique injuries of athletes, and their sport-specific recovery and injury prevention needs.
We understand what recreational and competitive athletes want:
We are happy to work closely with an athlete’s coach as well as Doctors, Podiatrists and Nutritionists and Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
Rehabilitation is a specialised area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which helps patients regain normal function after injury or surgery and return to their normal everyday activities or sport.
We are able to support your rehabilitation, from the early stages of injury or pre- and post-surgery, right the way through to achieving full recovery.
This is achieved by assessing the nature and extent of your injuries, utilising a combination of intensive hands-on physiotherapy, as well as prescribed strengthening and mobilisation programmes. This will ensure you gain the fastest and most effective recovery possible while limiting the risk of complications or re-occurrence of injury.
At your initial treatment session, we will take a detailed account of your problem, its symptoms and your injury history, along with relevant questions about your general health, lifestyle and activity level.
We will then perform a physical examination, which may include a range of strength, balance and mobility tests to make a clinical diagnosis. If necessary, you may be referred for further investigations.
Following receiving a diagnosis, you will be given an estimated recovery time, be advised on what treatment we recommend and be provided with self-management exercises to perform in your own time to speed up your recovery.
We value the multi-disciplinary approach to your rehabilitation, and strive to work closely with your family Doctor, coach, or other health care practitioner.
